Plant Nursery Goes Green Lovania
A 50 kW solar array made possible only by re-roofing a fragile packing-house roof, with our solar and roofing divisions working as one.
The problem
Lovania (one of the UK's leading large-scale plant growers, producing over 65 million plants a year) wanted solar, but traditional installers couldn't work across its aging, fragile cement-fibre packing-house roof. With machinery running directly below, there was real concern that falling debris would disrupt operations.
The solution
This is exactly where an integrated group pays off. Our solar and roofing divisions worked hand in hand: we sized a 50 kW array and its financial return, then devised an out-of-hours roof replacement schedule to create a secure base for the panels, with no disruption to the nursery's operations.
