We have completed a 110 kW rooftop solar installation for a poultry farm, with the array running the full length of a long poultry shed roof.
Poultry sheds are a strong fit for solar. They offer long, unshaded roofs, and the buildings need power throughout the day for ventilation, lighting and heating, so much of the electricity the array generates can be used on site rather than exported.

What we installed
- 110 kW rooftop solar array laid out along the shed roof to make the most of the available space.
- Design around the farm, with the installation planned so the working farm could keep running.
- One team from survey to switch-on, our own energy division handling design, installation and commissioning.

Solar for farms and agriculture
Farm buildings are some of the best roofs in the country for solar. If your sheds, barns or stores need re-roofing first, our roofing and energy teams can do both together, with a single combined 30-year warranty when we fit the roof and install the solar. Read about the combined warranty.
See how we approach solar for farms and agriculture, or tell us about your farm and we will survey the roof and model the savings.
