Mono Pumps, Manchester

Replacing a worn asbestos cement roof on a former BAE building with a 33,000 m² insulated metal warm roof.

New grey metal roof with ridge capping and rooflights on the Mono Pumps building in Manchester

The problem

The former BAE building had already been modernised inside, with new floors and twin-skin metal wall cladding. The roof had not: it was still the original asbestos cement sheeting, with Georgian wired glazing in poor condition.

The solution

Jones Lang LaSalle in Manchester, acting for the owner, appointed us to refurbish the roof. We installed a new metal-clad warm roof across around 33,000 m², with new rooflights and ridge details.

The result

A modern, insulated and watertight roof over the whole building, backed by a long-term planned maintenance plan to keep it that way.
